Description: Abstract Layering – An experimental Gelli-plate printing workshop.
Slow down, unwind, get a little inky, and reconnect with your creativity in this relaxed workshop. You will be shown how to create your own simple stencils and templates (+ use ready-made patterned stencils if you wish) to explore the magic of Gelli-plate printing – layering colour, textured materials and patterns to create beautiful unique prints.
A gelli-plate is a soft, flexible printing surface that you cover with ink. By placing textured materials and shapes/patterns onto the covered plate, you can press and lift detailed impressions onto a selection of papers. Build up a combination of layers to produce wonderful (sometimes unexpected) results.
This is all about playful experimentation, happy accidents, and enjoying the process. No experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to have a go.
You’ll leave with a unique framed piece of art, a collection of your own layered prints and the confidence to keep exploring at home.
