Event Details

Malcolm is a practising artist and sculptor, a former Fine Art lecturer at Staffordshire University. He currently teaches painting, drawing and sculpture at Shrewsbury School of Art.
This course is designed for all those who would love to draw a portrait, but are uncertain of how to begin. You will be guided through a series of straightforward tasks to complete a final portrait.
You will learn how to draw convincingly- facial features and how to use proportion in your work. You will learn how to measure and why, and finally, the correct way to shade, adding tone correctly which will help to make you portrait ‘come to life’.
Malcolm will also show you some ‘tricks of the trade’ on how to enhance your work.
Materials included: A range of pencils, tinted paper and tools for drawing, aprons will be available.

Cost: £75.00
The price includes all tuition, materials and refreshments which will be available throughout the day. The price does not include lunch, you are welcome to bring a packed lunch or order from the Foxlowe Café.
Skills level: Suitable for beginners with little or no experience, or those wishing to develop their skills.
