Krafty Kids workshop – Spice painting with Nelly

Painting with seasonings and spices.

I’m sure you’ve heard of painting with acrylics or water-colour, but have you ever heard of painting with spices.  For centueries, people have used natural pigments. In this workshop we will be using spices such as paprika, tumeric, cinnamon, star anise, cloves, coffee (decaf), oranges and more. We will be looking at our materials in details and using our senses to discover them.  Touching, smelling and tasting are all part of the experiment. We will also be talking about the history of spices.  The children will paint two paintings in this workshop and at the end of the workshop they will be making a very special surprise to take home with them.
