Botanical dyeing with Val Muir Fabric

This workshop will introduce you to the basic techniques needed to extract dye from plants and how to use it to colour fabric and threads.

You will learn how to mordant fabric; set up a dye bath and a solar pot. You will dye 2 pieces of fabric and some thread. There will be plenty of information about local plants to forage and others that can be grown in gardens as well as what can be used from our kitchen cupboards and the colours they will give you.
