Description:
In this workshop you will learn basic sewing skills to enable you to work on projects at home.
We will cover a variety of simple sewing exercises on sample pieces building up a sample file for you to keep and use as a reference.
Threading your machine, needles and feet, measuring and pattern reading, cutting and pining, straight seams, seam allowances and seam finishes, mastering corners and curves, inserting a zip, adding a pocket, working with bias binding, working with shirring elastic, introduction to jersey fabrics, working with batting,and basic applique.
You will then design a reversible tote bag using the skills you have learnt with the opportunity to add additional details you have learnt during the day.

All materials, equipment, and sewing machines are provided.
Refreshments will be available throughout the day and lunch will be provided by The Foxlowe Café.
