Val is a textile artist living in Buxton who uses natural dyes to colour her threads and fabrics, some of which she grows and some she picks up when out and about in the countryside, others come from her kitchen.  She uses these to make small practical items, quilts and books. 

Val studied Contemporary Art Practice at Leek School of Art and as a member of the Leek Textile 4 contributed to theTelling Threads exhibition at the Foxlowe art gallery in 2022.  She is looking forward to passing on some of the magic of working with natural colour and simple hand stitch in her workshops.
